In my Instagram, @theologywithfeet, I asked my audience if discipleship begins before or after someone professes to follow Jesus. Over 75% said after. [Dramatic Pause] But, the scriptures testify otherwise. The testimony of the scriptures is that of preconversion discipleship; that is, discipleship–the making of a disciple–begins before someone even believes in Jesus. On this episode, Andrew unpacks this idea in the New Testament, demonstrates the importance of the teaching for Western culture, and gives us a few pointers on how to make preconversion discipleship happen.
